Outstanding Graduates Honored at UNA’s Spring Commencement

FLORENCE, AL – More than two dozen graduates were honored as part of the 鶹 spring commencement ceremonies that took place May 9 and 10. The Turris Fidelis Key was presented to two graduating seniors; while 23 students received the Keller Key award.

The Turris Fidelis Key is awarded to a graduating senior(s) on the basis of outstanding service to the University as well as scholastic achievement. Recipients of this award are selected by a committee of faculty, staff, and students. This year’s recipients are:

  • Rebekah Brooke Callahan, of Atoka, Tenn., who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in English and Political Science. She has a 4.00 grade point average.
  • Joshua Garret Statom, of Florence, who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance. His GPA is 4.00.

The Keller Key is awarded at each commencement to graduating seniors who have achieved the highest scholastic standards while at UNA. Twenty-three students were honored for their academic achievement; they are:

From the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions:

  • Ethan Dwaine Hacker, of Trussville, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. On a scale of 4.00, his GPA is 4.00.

From the College of Education and Human Sciences:

  • Shelby Allison Carson, of Russellville, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education. On a scale of 4.00, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Avery Claire Dumas, of Athens, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. On a scale of 4.00, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Ansley Kate Hines, of Killen, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education. On a scale of 4.00, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Sarah Larkin Virginia Lewis, of Tyrone, Ga., who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. On a scale of 4.00, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Hanna Sue McDonald, of Cullman, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education, Collaborative Teacher Special Education. On a 4.00 scale, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Carlee Paige Rhodes, of Lexington, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education. On a 4.00 scale, her GPA is 4.00.
  • Presleigh Kate Rhodes, of Florence, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Secondary Education. On a 4.00 scale, her GPA is 4.00.

From the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering:
