Freshman ROAR Sessions
Five ROAR sessions are offered throughout June and July. All incoming freshmen and transfer students are highly encouraged to attend a ROAR session before starting classes in the fall semester. The majority of our ROAR orientation sessions are one day and will run from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Students have the option to attend one overnight two-day session (Day 1: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Day 2: 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.).

ROAR groups are focused, engaging groups that allow you access to a trained ROAR counselor and help you meet other classmates in a low-pressure environment.

Consider your resources with a course schedule in mind. Take advantage of May 4 New Student Advising and arrive at ROAR Orientation with a schedule prepared so you can understand your resources for a successful first semester.

Learn the "business" side of being a student.
ROAR is your first opportunity to learn about basic tasks you will need to complete each semester - from course registration to billing to Financial Aid acceptance. Get a solid foundation for the basics that you will need year after year!

ROAR is the perfect place to make sure small details aren't overlooked. Your ROAR Counselor can assist with checking on details you need to complete like submitting final high school transcripts, setting up your Mane Card student ID, and more!

UNA's goal with ROAR is to make sure you feel ready for college in all the ways that count. That's why we provide counselors for both students and family members- so everyone can spend their last few weeks before move-in reassured that UNA is thinking of you!
The cost to attend a one-day ROAR session is $80 per student and $35 per family member.
The cost to attend a two-day overnight session is $125 per student and $35 per family member.
Complete the following tasks before attending your ROAR session:

- First- Time Freshmen - Send your final high school transcript and official college transcripts for dual enrollment courses to the Admissions Office.
- Send AP scores to UNA.

- with Transportation Services. Students who do so at least 24 hours before their ROAR session will be able to pick up their parking permit during orientation.
Academic Advising for new incoming freshmen opens on May 4th, 2026. Transfer students attending in Fall 2026 can begin getting advised on March 3rd, 2026. All students should schedule a one-on-one appointment with their academic advisor outside of their ROAR session.
